30th Road safety awareness week commences across Kashmir
Series of programmes held to stress importance of safe driving.
At Pulwama Deputy Commissioner Pulwama G.M Dar today flagged off a rally in connection with 30th Road Safety Week celebrations at General Bus stand Drussu Pulwama.
SSP Pulwama, Chief Medical Officer, ARTO, Executive Officer Municipal Committee, besides staff of ARTO Office were present on the occasion.
The rally was organized by the ARTO Pulwama under the aegis of Motor Vehicles Department in which a number of sumo vehicle drivers participated. The rally passed through various routes including Main Bazar, Circular Road, Tahab road and other adjacent areas.
Speaking on the occasion, DDC said that the aim of rally is to spread awareness among the people regarding traffic rules and regulations. He said wearing helmet, using seat belt, exercising restraint in speed limit, avoiding use of mobile phones may reduce the road accidents drastically.
