In a new development, Supreme Court on Tuesday 18 January granted Interim Bail to Actor-Model Poonam Pandey. This comes as a big relief to Poonam in which Hi-Profile Bizman Raj Kundra, husband of Shilpa Shetty is one of the main accused.
Reportedly, a Bench of Justices comprising Vineet Saran and BV Nagarathna issued notice on the appeal filed by Pandey against the Bombay High Court order that rejected her plea.
Poonam had approached the court for anticipatory bail in relation to the porn racket case in which Raj Kundra, husband of actress Shilpa Shetty got arrested.
Earlier the Bombay High Court on November 25, 2021 had rejected her bail plea leading to the appeal before the top court.
As per Poonam’s plea while she is not a partner or owner of any of those platforms, the complaint against her was that some video portraying her is available on some such websites. She has also submitted that she was a victim and not an accused in this case. It was further claimed that all videos figuring her on certain porn websites was already blocked by the Central government in 2015.
Advocate on Record Soayib Qureshi and advocate Sandeep Bajaj along with advocate Aditya Chopra (Managing Partner – Victoriam Legalis, Advocates & Solicitors) appeared for Pandey.
