B.Tech Placements 2020: Are the Stats Motivating for JEE Main 2021 Aspirants?
In the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak, there were some doubts among engineering students with regard to their career prospects. JEE Main Exam is one of the popular exams in India and was taken by a total of 6.35 applicants last year in the September session. But are there any COVID blues in the B.Tech placements at the top Engineering Colleges in India in comparison to the last year? This article will let students know why the placements last year are so encouraging for the aspirants of JEE Main 2021.
B.Tech Placements in times of COVID
As per the report, the average domestic pay packages were comparatively higher in 2020. But many top MNCS have not offered any international job offers. In fact, not many of them had participated in the placements themselves. Needless to say, it is worrisome for engineering students as a whole. Well, much to the relief on the contrary, despite these circumstances, many top IITs and NITS witnessed excellent placements overall. It must be taken into account that the average package was between INR 6 – 12 LPA.
Despite the dire pandemic situation, 60 percent of the final year students at IITS already received placement offers less than two weeks after the placement seasons were held. NIT Calicut too witnessed 148 companies visiting their campus, including the ‘Big Honchos’ like – Oracle, Amazon, etc. Due to the COVID-19 lockdown, most engineering institutes, including the top IITS, conducted the placement drive in online mode itself.
