Dadar Beach Clean Up Drive Silver Jubilee Celebration Graced By Shaina NC



Aarna Foundation celebrated its Silver Jubilee week of Dadar Beach Clean-up drive on Sunday, 11th February 2018 . The campaign to save the Dadar/Prabhadevi beach is in its 25th week now and the team celebrated the day with a beautification activity at the beach. It started with painting of the walls around the beach with a message of “Swacch Bharat” in English, Hindi and Kannada languages, to spread the message of a cleaner Mumbai among the masses. The team also painted other social messages which will be helpful in bringing a positive change in the society.


Following the wall beautification was the beach clean-up by the team members and volunteers. The event was graced by renowned social activist, politician and fashion designer Ms. Shaina NC, who also heads the NGO “I Love Mumbai”. She extended her support to the team and expressed her desire of helping Aarna Foundation in its cleanliness project as she was happy to see the transformation of the Dadar beach. The team of Aarna Foundation has started Dadar beach cleanup 5 months back under the guidance of Prof.Indu Mehta of Welingkar Institute and picked up over 140 tonnes of garbage till date. Mr. Chinu Kwatra, co-founder of Aarna Foundation is ecstatic to have received the support of Ms. Shaina NC and is determined to make Mumbai cleaner and greener. He also thanks the NSS volunteers of VPM RZ Shah College, NMIMS-Navi Mumbai, and the team of “I Love Mumbai”.

After all, hard work pays beautifully, especially when it is done unconditionally for the society!
