Former President of Rotary Club of Bombay Bayview, Hemang’s Campaign to provide wellness kits to nurses in Mumbai

Mumbai: They are a 19-year-old club. Rotary Club of Bombay Bayview (RCBB) was chartered on 1st May 2002. Fondly known as RCBB, it started with a group of young individuals coming together for a Cause as part of Rotary International and District 3141. Today it continues to remain a young and vibrant family of more than 127 members and forever growing. Our mission is to bring about visible impact due to the number and size of projects in areas of Environment, water, energy, nutrition, education, and medicine in rural as well as urban areas

The current president of this Club is Smita Parekh, this campaign aims to support nurses who are Frontline warriors.

For the campaign, he describes, “I am running this COVID relief crowdfunding campaign to *appreciate and support the tireless contribution from Nurses across hospitals in Mumbai. We are doing this by providing them with wellness kits, which is a token of our appreciation for these frontline covid warriors*. Hospitals are overwhelmed and there is a sense of alarm regarding burnout among these Nurses. Let us recognize their efforts and sacrifices as they continue to save lives.”

The Wellness kits contain a flask (for hot liquids and hot water) and a nutritious hamper. This will help give Nurses much-needed nutrition that they have been foregoing. Each kit costs *INR 900*. So *INR 9000, for example, impacts 10 nurses. This is a Rotary Club of Bombay Bayview Charitable Trust initiative*.

It is also fortuitous that International Nurses day is celebrated on the 12th of May and the timing could not be better.
