Incessant rains continue to batter Mumbai City and Suburbs since Wednesday night. Mumbaikars woke up to heavy rains early morning. With some of the areas in lowlying areas waterlogged people more so the early morning officw goers were forced to wade through waterlogged roads.

Central Railway halted Mumbai local train service between Umbermali and Kasara due to
waterlogging on tracks. On Western Railway, locals were running but late.

The Heavy rains also led to traffic snarls. Waterlogging was reported in Malad-Jogeshwari, Eastern Freeway and Vile Parle-Bandra belt, causing traffic chaos.

The Bhandup-Mulund belt on the Eastern Express Highway saw congestion due to waterlogging and potholes.

Earlier on Wednesday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) had predicted intense to very intense rain in Mumbai, Palghar, Thane, and Raigad districts.

While Mumbai has been put on Yellow Alert, Navi Mumbai and Thane have been put on Orange alert.
