HSNC Board has been instrumental in Skill Development in association with the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Government of India, New Delhi.

The HSNCB Film Festival has given a remarkable platform for filmmakers and enthusiasts alike, where innovation and storytelling came together to celebrate the magic of the silver screen.

The Film Competition was held on 2nd September 2023 for student filmmakers. It was open to students from schools and colleges under the HNSC Board. Students from 16 colleges participated in this event. They visited any of the Skill development centres and made a short film on the same.

Gracing this momentous occasion were Immediate Past President, Shri Kishu Mansukhani, Provost HSNC University, Dr. Niranjan Hiranandani, Guest of Honour, Eminent Indian Film Actor, Jackie Shroff and Eminent Film Producer and Director, Vipul Amrutlal Shah. The event was hosted under the able leadership of Principal, Dr. Neha Jagtiani at R.D. & S.H. National College

Students had visited the centres to understand the nature and working of these courses conducted in these centres. In addition to this they had also taken interviews of the students undertaking these courses as well as the teachers there so that all of these can be incorporated in their short films. The film making competition gave them opportunities and learning to the students and the students have also put in a lot of effort and hard work into the making of their short films.
The best 3 movie – Smt. MMK College (Winner), HR College (First Runner Up) and MVLU School (Second Runner Up) will be uploaded on the website of The Ministry of Skill Development. The films were judged on the parameters of storytelling, cinematography, acting, editing, creativity, and adherence to the theme.
The outcome of this Film Festival is that it will create awareness about the skill development trainings conducted under the aegis of the HSNC Board. The awareness is not just in our own colleges and students but for the people of Mumbai at large.

The process of judging the above short films was done by a panel of eminent personalities, Awards and prizes were given to the Best Film, Best Director, Best Cinematography and many more.
The entire concept and idea has been suggested by Trustee, HSNC Board Dr. Niranjan Hiranandani.
