Justice need not be judicial, was the subject, by guest lecturer Edrich Miranda at Dandekar Law College, Palghar; which was organized by Principal Dr Payal Cholera. The subject a unique procedure, as to how to procure justice through the legislature, rather than from the courts; which procedure is not taught at law school, nor whilst working as an intern, or junior. Edrich who has written a book on the subject, has brought out lucidly, as to how legislative procedure can use various instruments at its disposal to accomplish, what would otherwise be accomplished through litigations at courts. Giving examples of how government servants, public servants can be compelled to comply with the law, by having matters raised at the Local Self Government, the State legislature and the Union legislature, by way of questions, motions, resolutions, special mentions etc.
The legal language employed, for the technical nuances; were so difficult, that the speaker experienced difficulties; but was relieved due to small mercies of professors Prasanna, Disha Tiwari, Utkarsha, Milka Tuscano, adv V. Zarapkar and Radha respectively, who having good command of Marathi, occasionally intervened to translate to the students.
