Crime against women is exponentially rising even despite the Mumbai Police resorts to clampdown on the crime.
In a fresh incident VinodArgyle, an active MNS Worker physically abused and pushed an elderly woman in the Kamathipura area on Thursday, 1 September, which was the day of 1.1/2 day Ganpati Visarjan. The video of the ugly incident has since gone viral on social Other two members spotted at the incident site were Raju Argyle, and Sandeep Lad both from MNS too have been arrested by Mumbai Police.
According to the police, Argyle, was about to install an advertisement banner near the woman’s shop, without her consent.
When the woman, identified as Prakash Devi, stopped him from putting the banner near her medical shop, there ensued a brawl between Vinod alongside his other two members Raju Argyle, and Sandeep Lad. Vinod first slapped the woman and then pushed her down. All this happened in presence of a large crowd.
The Mumbai Police has asked for a medical examination to be conducted on the victim Prakash Devi.
As per victim Devi’s statement to the police, they started abusing her at first for denying them which later turned into physical violence.
The three accused have been are arrested under sections 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 337 (causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others), 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke break of the peace), and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman), of the Indian Penal Code.
