    In our Social Entrepreneur series today We are introducing you a very dynamic and popular Social Entrepreneur of Gorakhpur for her remarkable and outstanding performance in social  field particular in Inner Wheel Club  who always believes in Women Empowerment and social entrepreneurship. Yes we are talking about Usha Agrawal, Past District Chairman of Inner Wheel District 312, she shared her Service and Charity Project with Hello Mumbai News Correspondent Janvi Panjwani.

    Brief Introduction of International Inner Wheel :

    International Inner Wheel  is an international women’s  Social organisation to create friendship, service and understanding. It has clubs in over 100 countries with over 100,000 members. IWC has very strong presence in India. It has more than 3000 thousands clubs in Urban and rural India. Since the Covid 19 Pandemic breaks out Inner wheel club launched charity campaign worldwide. In our Inner wheel Social entrepreneur series in this Episode we are introducing very popular face of IWC, she doesn’t need any kind of Introduction.

    Brief Introduction of Past District Chairman Usha Agrawal :

    Usha Agrawal has her bearing in Indore. Born on the 15th of July, in a cultured well-known business family, she inherited her social, cultural and spiritual inclinations from her worthy parents. Her father a dedicated rotarian for 50 years instilled in her the seedlings of working for social causes.
    A postgraduate in English literature, Usha has a versatile Persona. As a sports person she has excelled in swimming and badminton. As an artist she has done many plays on “All India Radio” and on stage. She was an upgraded drama artist on AIR Gorakhpur. As a social worker she has worked for Red Cross and adult education. She participated actively in the training program of healthcare and hygiene of rural counterpart.

    She joined Innerwheel in 1976 and served her club under all capacities. It was her dynamism that the club bagged the best secretary in a 1988-89, best club and best president’s awards in 1990-91.
    On the district level she has rendered her services as ISO 1994-95 editor 1995-1996, secretary 1996 -1997, E.S.O 1997-1998 , Vice Chairman 1998-1999, District Chairman 1999-2000, Association Council member 2000-2001. Her work has been highly appreciated by all visiting Association officers. She has attended all the district Conferences and Assemblies during that period . She was convenor of many district functions.

    PDC Usha is an asset not only for her club but for her district and Innerwheel as well. She has always stood as an inspiration for Inner Wheel members to achieve high goals in InnerWheel and in the Service of society. As district Chairman, she had brought many new ideas to bring life in her district and to promote friendship by introducing district rallies and intercity meets, honour of PDCs and club president, Flag marches during the conference. She brought the honour to the district by hosting an Association Council meet. To improve the working of district she created the post of CGRs and for the first time all the club office bearers were sent written instructions of their duties and for the ballot papers, protocol guidance etc.. The club president were guided by her every month through a circular sent to them. It was a proud moment for her when with tireless effort she could achieve a 100% proxy voting for the international convention from her district which was otherwise very less . It was with her effort that her district got recognition in the Association which was otherwise known by them as a quite backward and sleeping district , which opened the doors for all the incoming chairman to make their place in the Association.
    During different offices in the district her meticulous way of working was always appreciated by the visiting Association presidents which inspired many club Presidents to come forward and give the best of their services to the district, and the club members were enthusiastic and encouraged to take the offices in the clubs and then in the district. Having worked on all the offices of the district except treasure-ship, she could very efficiently guide her district executive member about their duties. Besides this she created an atmosphere of harmony friendships and enthusiasm and was highly respected and loved by all the clubs and district executives. This could be achieved only by her selfless hard work to serve Innerwheel. Ever since she is tirelessly trying to guide , encourage and inspire her club members to serve the underprivileged, to fulfil the aims of Innerwheel.

    It is her dream that Innerwheel Club of Gorakhpur should have a school of its own for the underprivileged children. And where they can run a vocational training centre for the needy girls also. She is trying her best to persuade and encourage the members to save and create funds for this project.
    It is also her very keen desire that her club can provide a home for the destitute old people and orphans. She stands like a pillar of strength for her club , always ready to help and guide and actively participates in the service activities of the club.

    She believes that every child has a right to education And she emphasizes on the importance of education specifically that of a girl child. She is privately and silently supporting many children in their education providing medical aid to many people and helping wherever she is needed without making a show of it.
    She believes that the children are the future of the country if they get the right direction they can be better citizens. To channelize their energies to constructive direction she used to go to different schools once a week to give talks and to instill in them the right will, right thinking and right action and the feeling of patriotism.
    A true patriotic she has counselled many youngsters to stay back in India and give their services and advantages of their knowledge to their own country rather than going abroad and serve other countries. She also encouraged them to stay back with their aging parents as they need them at this stage of life .

    She has always stood by the right. Come what may she will never give in to anything that is wrong. She is known and highly respected in the society for her individuality, independent rightful thinking and progressive mind. She cannot take injustice, she has always fought against it whether towards herself or somebody else.

    Usha was initially taken up with the Jaycees movement. She chaired the Jaycerete wing for three consecutive years and made the ladies wing very active. She was zonal chairperson for one year. She was a member of Intach, Mahila Sarvodaya Mandal, Hunger project, Agrawal and Mahila Samiti . She is a past Vice President of Masonic Ladies Wing.

    On the domestic front, her interests include reading, music, gardening, cooking and sketching. She likes meeting people and making friends. Having a deep faith in God , she attributes all her achievements as the blessing of Almighty.

    Usha is married to Rotarian Dr. Shiva saran Das, a retired professor in chemistry, and past president of his club, is into the family business of real state , cinema exhibition n farming . He besides belonging to one of the most renowned Zagirdar family of eastern UP, is a Gold medalist in Chemistry, a sports enthusiast and has a keen interest in Literature, poetry and Arts.

    She is thankful from the bottom of her heart to her husband Shiva , her mother – in – law and her aunt Rita Agrawal for their constant support and encouragement, who always stood by her side like pillars of strength.

    IW District 312 one of the most vibrant districts of the Inner wheel which had a strong presence in Uttar Pradesh in big cities and districts such as Lucknow, Varanasi, Sultanpur, Allahabad, Azamgarh, Faizabad, Gorakhpur, and many more. This District comprises more than 70 Clubs. IW District 312 performed well during this difficult time of pandemic and came forward to support pandemic-affected people during the lockdown.
