Mumbai: It comes as a big sigh of relief to women commuters by local trains. Central Railway and Maha Govt on Friday have passed orders that ladies can travel in local trains from Navratri beginning from tomorrow, October 17 and on Diwali on time slots from 11 am to 3 pm in the evening and then from 7pm till end of service with valid ticket. QR codes will not be required for ladies travelling during the said time period reads the order.

The order also reiterated that earlier permission given to emergency services staff to travel in local trains will continue to remain valid for the entire day.
