    Logo Unveiling and Press Conference of World Senior Kurash Championship 2022 with Jagdish Tyler and Raza Nassiri

    It comes as Good news for sport lovers particularly those interested in ‘Kurash’ game. This is the logo of XIII World Senior Kurash Championship 2022 released by the hands of Senior Congress Leader and Chairman of Kurash Association of India, Jagdish Tytler and Raza Nassiri in Mumbai.

    The high profile media event meet saw the attendance by dignitaries from Central Asia, Uzbekustan and Turkey.

    In his interaction with the Media Jagdish Tytler, Chairman Kurash Association of India said, “Sports teach us to love each other and conveys a message of peace. And with this good intention we ventured to promote this Kurash Game. It’s a very traditional Game of Central Asia and am associated with this game since last two decades.

    Now we will be hosting this XIII World Senior Kurash Championship 2022 in Mumbai in November. Notably, more than 101countries, students will participate in this championship.

    It’s our immense privilege that this event will give us global recognition. 27 states from India will participate and its a big opportunity for all of us for hosting such a wonderful sport event.

    Tytler further affirmed, this Kurash championship is not a sport event for us, but through this we will generate employment for the students and this championship will promote sports among students. As of now, we have been privileged with a good response from North India. I am doubly sure, that very soon, we will host it Nationwide level.

    Key Highlights of this Press Meet :

    Directing Committee meeting of International Kurash Association and Logo releasing of World Senior Kurash Championship 2022 held on 30 March 2022 at 12.00 noon at Juju Marriot, Mumbai.

    As International Kurash Association had sanctioned to organize World Championship in India, the event will be conducted in November 2022. This is the 4th time India is hosting an International Kurash event in the country. Over 500 participants (Men and Women), 100 officials and delegates representing 60 Nations will be vying for honors in the four day Kurash extravaganza.

    Our country had organized the following International championship till now.

    2010 Senior World Kurash Championship in Delhi – India, 2012 Senior Asian Championship In Cochin, Kerala, India, 2016 Junior World Championship at Cochin, Kerala, India, In 2010, 2012 and 2016 our country had received the Best Championship Award from International Kurash Association.

    About Kurash Association :

    Kurash, which was included in Asian Games 2018 was held at Jakarta, Indonasia. The India contingent consists of 14 players (8 Men and 6 Women) and 4 officials have participated in the Asian Games. Pinky Benhara and Mallaprabha Jadhav from India have won silver and Bronze Medal respectively. India also had won many International medals in Asian Indoor Martial Art Games, Asian Beach Games, World Martial Art Games, World Kurash Championship etc..
