Today, 6 December, Nation remembers Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar on his 66th Death Anniversary – the man who was an institution in himself. Notably, he was the brain behind and responsible to draft the Indian Constitution. The day also marks its importance to his countless Dalit Community followers. He was responsible to give them a new lease of life.

The Day is observed as Mahaparinirvan Diwas and is held at the Chaitanyabhoomi, iconic Shivaji Park, Dadar.
His countless followers from all over Maharashtra reach Mumbai to offer their tribute and respect the great leader.

It was Dr. Ambedkar’s struggle that instilled hope to millions of people across the Nation.

Apart Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Dy.Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis who paid floral tributes to Dr.Ambedkar at his memorial Chaitanyabhoomi at the iconic Shivaji Park, Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with President Droupadi Murmu and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar also paid floral tributes to him at the Parliament complex.

Even Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari also paid tributes to Dr B R Ambedkar.

Devotedly recognised as Babasaheb, he was instrumental to battle for the economic and social empowerment of Dalits in the country, eradicating the social scourge of untouchability and promoting gender equality. independent India.
