Would like to update resident members of Zameen ALM, people of Mahim and all our followers around the globe that the 2nd phase of our adoption cum beautification project held this morning (i.e. Saturday 16th December 2017) which consisted of planting the trees along with their protective guards, went off very smoothly.
Though the police were not present during the event, everything went off peacefully for the simple fact that we took the few squatters into confidence…
Of all the people who were invited to support our project, the person who was the first to be on the site alongwith our Environment Team was Ex-Corp of Ward No.182 – Smt Meena Desai.. She was there for quite a while..
The others who joined later was our staunch supporter – Irfan Machiwala alongwith Hon Secretary of Dargah Street ALM – Anwar Khan and their group including Nadeem, Gulzar and Farooq… Mr David too attended on behalf of our Corporator – Sheetal Gambhir Desai (Ward No.190)… Our project was also supported by Chairman of Zameen Alm – Mr Arun Puranik and another sincere supporter Alston who represented Marinagar Colony.. Many more people also attended whose names we do not know…. Another good thing to happen was to see the children of the few scattered squatters help us in our tree plantation project..
We would like to update the people of Mahim that the few squatters who were on the footopath which is under adoption and beautification, have in principle agreed to relocate to another area and give us back our footpath for the use of pedestrians…. We expect them to relocate without exerting much pressure …
