Mumbai All India Muslim Personal law Board Members see support from Shiv Sena on Uniform Civil Code
The Uniform Civil Code returns to the spotlight.
Notably, its enforcement has equally emerged as a debatable and hot topic in our country, not only for Minority community but as well for Political parties.
And this controversy continues to headline.
However, the UCC enforcement has not gone down well with the All India Muslim Personal law Board from day one and who have been strongly opposing it.
Reportedly, some regional political parties namely, the Samajwadi party,AMIM NCP, National Conference and Congress too not happy with this Bill that’s look unfavourable for the support to the Minority
Lately, a delegation from the All India Muslim Personal law Board met Former Chief Minister of Maharashtra and Chief of UBT Uddhav Thackeray to seek his support to oppose this UCC Bill.
The delegation from the All India Muslim Personal law Board also included Maulana Mhemood Driyabadi, Educationist Zaheer kazi, Fareeda Shaikh from Aman Committe and Maulana Zahir Abaas.
They also submitted a memorandum to the UBT Chief seeking support from his party for opposing this Bill.
In the Memorandum, it is aptly mentioned that this Bill is not favourable and comfortable for Minority people since it will harm and damage the very unity and diversed culture of our democratic country. This Bill is not a safe guard for the Minority.
Uddhav Thackeray, reportedly listened to their demand and accepted the Memorandum. He had asked for some time to give a thought to it, but, nevertheless, ensured of his party’s support on this.
At this meet, MP and spokesperson of the party Sanjay Raut too was present.
The AIMPLB members whilst opposing the UCC bill implementation, makes it known that PM Modi’s “One law” doesn’t exist in India on many issues.
AIMPLB members further underlined that its stand is that UCC is against the spirit of the Constitution and we will oppose it strongly.
