Mumbai based Senior journalist Syed Salman awarded an ‘Honorary Doctorate Degree’ Honored in the ‘Journalism and Communal Harmony’ category

The Honorary Doctorate Award Council, approved by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India, and the World Human Rights Protection Commission have bestowed Mumbai-based senior journalist Syed Salman with the title of ‘Honorary Doctorate’. From now on, he will be referred to as Dr. Syed Salman. This title was announced on the ‘Martyr’s Day’, which commemorates the immortal martyrs of the freedom struggle, Shaheed Pandit Ramprasad Bismil, Shaheed Ashfaqullah Khan, Roshan Singh and Rajendra Lahiri and was recently awarded in Delhi by Anjani Kumar, the Managing Director of the Institute. Dr. Syed Salman was given this honor under the category ‘Journalism and Communal Harmony’.

Dr. Syed Salman has actively contributed to the print, electronic, and digital media for the past three decades. He has held various positions such as News Editor, Channel Head, Bureau Head, Chief Executive Editor, City Editor, and Chief Editor in different channels and newspapers. His articles are regularly published in renowned Hindi and Urdu newspapers and magazines. Additionally, he organizes an annual program called ‘Martyr’s Day’, dedicated to social unity, under the banner of Shaheed-e-Watan Bismil-Ashfaq Foundation. He is also the Coordinator of the Hindi Journalism Department at the Garware Institute, affiliated with Mumbai University, where he contributes significantly to nurturing aspiring journalists. Dr. Syed Salman has been honored with several prestigious awards and is actively involved in social service as a trustee for organizations like Edugrowth Charitable Trust, Nayee Umang Charitable Trust and Mumbai Hindi Patrakar Sangh.

Ashfaqullah Khan, the great grandson of Amar Shaheed Ashfaqullah Khan, has issued a congratulatory message from Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh, the city of martyrs, expressing gratitude towards the Government of India and the World Human Rights Protection Commission for choosing a deserving individual like Dr. Syed Salman for the Doctorate in the category of ‘Journalism and Communal Harmony’.
