College of Arts, Commerce and Science, shares his views on today’s standard of Education with Hello Mumbai News Correspondent Syed Nazia.

Mumbai: Education is the key to the development of any nation. With the upheaval all around the city, the state and the nation, it is a challenge for any student to focus on academics.

Hello Mumbai News Correspondent Syed Nazia roped in Dr Siraj Chougle , to get his candid facts on education and its importance.

Speaking to Syed Nazia he said study doesn’t end and begin with just academics or textbooks. To study is to have the knowledge about anything and everything .
There is no limit and an end point to it. He says that one has a good amount of time now to which one should know how to utilize it in an appropriate manner. One can do that by even reading the holy books of Quran,Geeta,Bible as it is essential to have the right knowledge of the religion so that the demarcation between the groups can end . There can be better understanding, peace and brotherhood among everyone . He believes with the correct learning and teaching given at the early stage of one’s life can help them to have a broader perspective to see religion as a place of worship and not as a division of humanity or a topic of war. In his views humanity always stands to be the number one than the religion.

Further he elaborated about his views on the changing method of classrooms amid the lockdown. He said, all the schools and colleges have paved their ways to e-learning which is the best that one could do in this lockdown as the academic year of students should not go a waste . They are providing study materials as much as they can to help the students accommodate with their studies.

But he opines that this should be just an addition and an alternate way of learning method. It can never be a primary source of education. In a country like India we still lack in technology skills and in proper source of electricity so it is not possible that everyone can avail the use of e- learning. There are so many students who cannot even afford a laptop or they stay in areas with not much good network, it won’t be fair on their parts if we entirely depend on e-learning but for the time being this is what is the best that one can do. The Maharashtra Government is organizing and drafting uniform plans for every student across the state. Since we do not know how long will the lockdown extend he further adds saying that one must even help their parents with the household chores .Teenagers today should not shy away with the house work because it is their home and shelter so they should work and contribute towards it too.

He appeals to the parents to even teach their sons the same work they teach to their daughters. According to him the kitchen doesn’t apprehend a woman and bread earners aren’t just portrayal of men. He even says that studies should not come to a halt because the world is at a halt, one can refer to old textbooks and books and still educate themselves . After all not everything needs to be googled certain things have to be read and searched in the pages of a book rather than just swiping the right click.
