Mumbai IMD issues yellow alert for city, orange alert in Thane on Tuesday

Mumbai: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert in Mumbai for the next two days.
As the city witnessed light showers on Monday with moderate rainfall at isolated places, officials at the weather forecasting department sounded a yellow alert in Mumbai on Tuesday and Wednesday.Parts of Thane received heavy rainfall on Monday

The city is very likely to receive heavy to very heavy rain at isolated places for the next couple of days, the IMD shared.
Besides, an orange alert has been issued in Thane for Tuesday. The district is likely to witness heavy to very heavy rains in the next 24 hours.
In neighbouring Palghar too, a yellow alert has been sounded for Tuesday, but an orange alert has been issued for Wednesday.
The rainfall is likely to decrease gradually from September 2, and the city might receive only light drizzles during the weekend.

Mumbaikars are accustomed and always prepared for the worst is the reality ! This is a regular occurance during every monsoon and with such an inept MCGB and State government under the control of looters, we expect no improvements in the situations!
