Mumbai IMD issues Yellow Alert for Mumbai Thane and Palghar on Monday 27 & 28 September

This year, the rain has been erratic. Many places have received rain despite their monsoon period ending, and some didn’t receive rain at all.

Even as September is the last month for monsoon in Mumbai, yet the Financial Capital is experiencing heavy showers.

The IMD has issued a red alert for districts like Palghar, Raigad, and Thane and forecasts heavy rains on September 28. Yellow Alert has been issued for Mumbai Thane, Palghar for 27 & 28 September.

IMD officials claim that the expected heavy to rains in many places is due to the cyclonic storm Gulab over northwest and adjoining the west-central Bay of Bengal. The cyclonic disturbance present is moving with a speed of 18 Kmph on since Sunday.

Cyclone Gulab is being monitored by Doppler Weather radar in Vishakhapatnam.
