Mumbai: Lions Club of Bandra, Carter Road, surges forward to help the needy from Bandra to Santacruz amid lockdown.
Mumbai: Lions Club scattered across the country are acknowledged for their selfless service and even on occasions go out of their way and work beyond their capacity to help the needy whenever any crisis arises.
Needless to mention that the Lions Club have always risen for noble and deserving causes. They believe in their motto “We Serve”.
Likewise amid the ongoing nationwide lockdown when many institutions, socio-cultural organisations, NGO’s and social workers have been doing their best to help the poor and needy.
Speaking over phone with Hello Mumbai News Reporter Nitin Dwivedi, Treasurer and Trustee Mr. Mahendra Ashar while sharing his experience exclaimed about the charity work they have been doing amid this lockdown.
Lions Club of Carter Road, Bandra, stepped forward to be of help to the poor and needy and in association with Gurudwara Dhan Podar Nagar, Santacruz ( west ) distributed 1000 ready-to-eat food packages and also in association with Bandra Hindu Association they distributed 1000 food packages.
Besides this, they have also carried out the distribution of Precautionary kits in Palghar district and also at Cooper Hospital, Mumbai.
The cost of this entire project was Rs 150000/-.
With this, the Leo Club of Mumbai Carter Road along with Leo Club of Juhu are on an ongoing mission of distributing ready to eat food packages to children at Nehru Nagar, Vile-Parle(West) for 20 days. The cost of this project counts to Rs 200000/-.
As of now Lions Club as well as Leo Club combined they have distributed 12000 food packets to the needy.
It is great initiative by the Lions Club of Mumbai Carter Road and Leo Club of Carter Road and Juhu.
Lions work with a pledge “where there is a need there is a Lion”. They take to their stride to save the hapless workers and families struggling for a morsel of food and make their ends meet. They have a charismatic approach and always on their toes to help.
