Mumbai: When our country is battling a war waged by Covid-19 and the subsequent national lockdown, many poor and needy people are virtually reduced to poverty with no morsel of food. At such pathetic situation, many NGos, Socio-Cultural organisations and individuals have been coming forward to help with food distribution and other essential commodities.

Likewise, even Lions Club spread widely across the country, and being charity-minded have always risen to such pathetic situations and have come to the help of the poor and needy amid the lockdown.

Now, Lion Sanjay Sontakke Lions Club of (Bombay) Sea Side West organised food distribution for the needy slum dwellers in JB Nagar, Andheri on 28 March 2020.This noble project was coordinated under the aeigis of Lion MJF Sanjay Sontakke and Lion Sudhir Mangar
through Mire projects planned well ahead.

Apart from food distribution, Sanjay Sontakke of Lions Club of Bombay Sea Side West distributed soaps to the underprivileged persons at the Anand Nagar Slums today as a precautionary measure to contain the spread of Coronavirus.

This need of the hour project initiated was blessed by MJF Lion Saraswati Sankar who participated in the project as Chief Guest alongside Lion Sanjay Sontanke ,Lion Mohan Prajapati, Lion Shahaji Dhainji and Leo President Leo Govind Ray.

The slum volunteers too helped in the distribution of soaps and generated an awareness upon the dwellers, the importance of frequent washing of hands as a precaution from the spread of the deadly Coronavirus.
