Mumbai: Break of fire in commercial buildings is increasing. It is either to short-circuit or cooking gas leak.

A latest news that comes to light is of a major of fire in the Rolta Company building in Andheri MIDC area on Thursday afternoon.

Officials reveal that the fire broke out around noon at Rolta Company building, located inside Rolta Technology Park on 22nd Street in Andheri MIDC, Marol.

Mumbai Fire Brigade Team rushed to the spot minutes after receiving the alert about the incident. The intensity of the fire turned severe that the fire call was escalated to Level-III and more personnel and equipment were deployed on-site.

“The fire was confined to the server room on the second floor of the ground plus three-storey commercial structure. Dense smoke engulfed the structure and the staircase according to fire brigade chief P.S Rahangdale..

Reportedly, four fire fighting jets are in operation donning Breathing Apparatus Set as heavy smoke has filled the entire premises.

At least eight fire engines and six jumbo tankers have been pressed into service and fire fighting was underway.

Till now there is no report of any injury to any person. Further details, including the cause of fire, are awaited.

The incident comes a day after nine persons were injured in a fire caused due to a cylinder blast in Kandivali.
