Mumbai: Lions Club is recognised for helping people in their time of need. The Club has been helping those in need of help 24×7.
It is an established fact that Lions Club is recognised for all their charitable and other activities. There are 19 Members in the Lions Club of Bandra Reclamation. The Club never disappoints anyone, but, are always on their toes to selflessly help the needy ones.

They are more particular in times of nature’s calamity and other unforseen circumstances in which the poor and needy are widely affected. And in such a catastrophe Lions Club donate funds from their treasure.

To get to the real facts of the yeomen services of Lions Club, Hello Mumbai News chanced to have a phone conversation with Mr. Rajendra, Vice President, Lions Club Mumbai Bandra Reclamation. While addressing on the Club’s services, he said, they support the people immeasurably and their help and support to those impacted by Covid-19 has bern tremendous.

Mr.Rajendra also made it known that they have taken charge of the schools and other institutions which have been converted into a quarantine centre for accomodating the patients. The Club fulfills all their requirements. . He also said they run a food donation camp and distribute food to the ones who are unable to earn and have a morsel of food amid the lockdown.

He went on to add that there are no area restrictions. They help everyone as much as possible from their end.

Mr. Rajendra cited an example that a blind man residing in Bhoisar needed some help. So they took his bank account details and transferred money to his account. This is how they try their utmost best to reach out to everyone and be of help to them.

He further said that, amid the crisis prevailing, we can’t expect government to do everything all by themselves. It proves difficult for them too.
Hence, We as citizens, on humanity grounds must support the government. No doubt , the Government is neglecting certain things, but they too are over’stressed and this is not the right time to blame the authorities. It is time to do whatever possible to survive this crisis. Later when everything is normal we can speak and blame government for whatever negligence they have shown.

The prevailing situation is not going to end soon. We should develop our capability and immunity to deal with Corona. Though the Lockdown is temporary, everything will reopen soon however, the threat of corona will keep hammering our heads.
The Government cannot keep the whole country under lockdown till the whole threat is gone. It will take time. There are many diseases. Even swine flu was a big pandemic. It too affected people badly but we had medicine for swine flu. Once the medicine for Corona is found out it will be a big relief and everything will be normal.

Over and above, they are serving 24×7 to all the people and will continue with their initiative to help the ones affected from COVID-19.

In conclusion, he reiterated that the schools and institutions which have been converted to quarantine centers and all donations thereof, will be taken care of from their end.

He also has a message for all the citizens- to maintain social distancing, follow the rules of the government regardless whether u are comfortable or not. Everything is for your betterment. It is difficult to work without house help and work from home too. But we have to adjust, and deal with it. We have to do the household chores and perform well in our daily wages job.

Finally he said, this is their style of work in helping people and not wanting to play the blame game. For the Lions Club, Charity is their priority.
