Mumbai: While the Covid-19 pandemic looms large across the country so too the migrants pandemic is causing grave concern. They are left penniless and unable even to have a morsel of food and desperate to reach their home state.

Many socio-cultural organisations and Ngos have been surging forward to help them and to pull them out from their present plight.

At this scenario of the migrants desperate to reach their home state, BJP Corporator from Ward 67, Four Bungalow area Andheri (West), Sudha Shambunath Singh

appealed to all migrants not to leave Mumbai. Because, once they leave Mumbai, problems will not ease, but problems will mount and they may have to encounter grave situations.

Interacting with ‘ Hello Mumbai News over phone, and sharing her experience and work being carried out by her amid the lockdown, she said, ‘ as a Corporator and BJP leader I would like to advise all migrants , they should not leave Mumbai as we all have been with them. Right from day one of the lockdown, We and BMC and others have already been supporting them by providing them with food packets and other essential items. So there is no need for them to worry for anything and not to insist to leave to their native place. There is also no need to be panic as everything will be ok and will settle down very soon. If they go to their native place, their problems will not ease. No doubt, we are aware that they have faced many difficulties. They need to trust in us and expect support from us in future too.
She further reiterated that right from day one we have been supporting and helping all by distributing food packet daily among more than, 1500 people in our ward. We have set up kitchen in our ward and daily more than 1,000 people have been getting lunch and dinner from there.

We are doing our level best from our side. My only request again to all migrants to remain patient and to repose Faith in us and not to leave Mumbai. STAY HOME STAY SAFE and follow lockdown norms.
