News Report by Nitin Dwivedi

Amid the entire nation battling against the Covid-19 pandemic, Surekha Patil is making efforts to focus on helping the differently-abled people from her Ward by providing them with sufficient grocery and ration at their doorstep.
Till now she is on a mission to distribute grocery as well as ration to 40 differently-abled people.

Striding ahead and speaking over phone with Nitin Dwivedi, she further adds that no sooner the nationwide lockdown was announced, at first, she aimed at all the chawls and getting them sealed with all possible measures.

She further adds that generating awareness among the people from slums is quiet an important task which she focused on.
Social workers as well as NGO’s from Kandivli Lokhandwala Township have been extremely helpful in assisting her and providing Grocery items.

Till now she has distributed 3kg Rice, 3kg wheat flour, 1kg sugar, 1kg Dal and 1litre packet of oil.
as a standard grocery kit to the people from her ward.

Notably, number of Corona patients in her ward is extremely low with not more than 10 and she feels extremely proud of it.

Moreover she is trying to evacuate people from her Ward and send them to their respective states but she is neither getting adequate support from BMC nor the Police Department.
She says not a single document has been sanctioned from her area for the people who want to leave for their states.

She appeals to the BMC as well as the Police department that in times of such crisis where everyone has to win this fight together, she wants that there should be a proper coordination between BMC officials and Public representative then only we will surpass such dangerous situations like Covid-19 pandemic.
