Mumbai Debt-ridden Dewan Housing Finance Limited (DHFL) is gripped in big trouble as the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on 27th January arrested the company’s Chairman and Managing Director Kapil Wadhawan, in the allegedly Iqbal Mirchi money laundering and illegal funding case.

Kapil Wadhawan got arrested for his non-co-operation in the investigation.

Iqbal Mirchi was the right-hand man of underwold don Dawood Ibrahim. Being world’s top drug baron, he was said to a lynchpin of the betting racket in cricket too. Mirchi breathed his last in UK in 2013.

Earlier the Enforcement Directorate had filed a 12,000 page chargesheet against 16 individuals including late Iqbal Mirchi, his sons Asif Memon and Junaid Memon, his wife Hazra Memon, Director of Sunblink Real Estate Sunny Bhatija, broker Ranjeet Singh Bindra and Dheeraj Wadhawan director of Sunblink and a non-executive director of DHFL in the money laundering case.
