There has been massive disruption caused to the Hotel business amid the nationwide lockdown to contain COVID-19 pandemic. Hotels and Restaurants have been bearing the brunt ever since the Covid-19 induced lockdown. Apart from the damage to business, the staff too have been hit below the belt..

While interacting with Hello Mumbai News Corrospondent Neha Singh Pravin Shetty,Owner, Hotel Catering Management Services, said that he has appealed to the Government to provide subsidy, some relief in VAT and GST and reasonable compensation to the staff so that
they could pay them their salary for atleast 2-3 months till the time their business existed prior to lockdown.

He further affirmed that the Catering and Restaurant Industry have been hard hit dustry amid the of Covid-19 pandemic. All the restaurants have closed their shutters. After they reopen, they will face challenges such as hike in manpower since lot of people have settled down in their hometown. It’s for sure that Revenue will not generate for at least one year. This is what they are estimating . When revenue will not generate the stability in their business and they will face grave difficulties.

Pravin, while talking about how the Covid-19 induced lockdown has badly impacted on the Catering and the Restaurant Industries, he said as of July 100% food and Restaurant Industries have been closed. From August people have started some Take Away practices. Moreover, right now most of the people are scared of restaurant food and Take Away in fear of covid-19.

to use less manpower so that we can manage all the other activities . Basically 50% of the restaurants will be closed forever because people have to maintain their financial stability. But for at least 6-12 months there will be no generation of profit. Customers have become very choosy because of the financial impact in their pockets as Covid-19 has affected all the classes of people that includes lower class middle class and upper class too.

He further added that for rest of the life covid-19 is going to have a very negative impact. It has killed human beings and has profusely impacted not only the business industry but even the economy.
