Mumbai: Mumbai, Palghar and Thane Upgraded by Orange Alert Due To Heavy Rain by IMD.
Receiving heavy rain alert upgraded by IMD for Mumbai, Thane and Palghar to orange due to heavy rain expected in the next two days. 31.6mm rain received by IMD’s Santacruz observatory and IMD’s Colaba recorded 63.2mm rainfall in 24 hours by 8:30am on Friday. Moderate rain is considered to be between 15.6mm to 64.4mm as per IMD. Dahisar Suburbs has received 120mm rainfall.
Parts of Mumbai, Thane and Navi Mumbai received moderate to heavy rainfall in the last 24 hours with one or two station crossing 120 mm too. Satellite images caught recently indicates very active monsoon over Konkan especially on North Konkan including Mumbai and Thane. It will continue for the next 24 hours in the interiors too.
