Mumbai: Mumbai Lions Club of Palghar surges forward to help workers and their familes stuck indoors jobless and no income

Mumbai: Needless to mention that the Lions Club have always risen for noble and deserving causes. They believe in their motto “We Serve”.

At a time when the workers and their families are frustrated and placed in a precarious condition stuck indoors and jobless with no income, it struck the heart of the Lions Club of Palghar.

With a pledge “where there is a need there is a Lion”, Lions Club of Palghar took to their stride to save the hapless workers and families struggling for a morsel of food and make their ends meet.

Palghar is a newly formed tribal district. 75.80% people here belong to backward class. In the wake of lockdown imposed all over the country, people hardly get one meal a day.

In view of this situation, Lions Club of Palghar made available Anaaj Daan Bag comprising 4kg rice, 2.5kg onion, 2.5kg potatoes, 1kg dal, 2kg flour, 1litre oil, 100gm turmeric powder, 100gm chilly powder, 1kg salt, 1kg sugar, 100gm tea powder. The Club donated 500 such bags to the needy.

At a time when Covid-19 positive case was registered, Palghar rural health Centre where the arrangements weren’t available to fight such situation.

Lions Club of Palghar came forward and donated 50 PPE kits to R.H.C Palghar.

Notably, the President of Lions Club of Palghar, Lion. Dr. Paritosh Rana expressed his gratitude to all the donors and the Lion members who came forward to help in the time of need and for a noble and deserving cause.

Lions Club spread across the country need to be lauded for their exemplary service towards the poor and needy people particularly those workers who are jobless with no source of income to survive.
