The most awaited travel trade show in India, OTM Mumbai was inaugurated on 3rd February 2020 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre. The Guests of Honour for the Inaugural Programme were:

  1. Hon’ble Minister of Tourism,Greece – HE Harris Theocharis
  2. Hon’ble Minister of Tourism, Uttarakhand – Shri Satpal Maharaj
  3. Consul General – Consulate General of Republic of Indonesia, Mumbai – Pak Agus P Saptono

The MoT Uttarakhand, Mr Satpal Maharaj praised OTM as the leading travel show and one of the better knowledge sharing platforms in Asia. He spoke at length of Dev Bhoomi’s aggressive tourism approach for 2020 since it is blessed with a plethora of attractions: rafting, paragliding, skiing, snowboarding, yoga and mountain biking over and above other options. The Counsul General of Indonesia, Pak Agus P Saptono cited India as their 5th largest source market with 60% of the share going to Bali. 10 other destinations are being curated as the next Bali to drive greater numbers to Indonesia. Film tourism is a huge focus for the coming years. The Greece MoT, HE Harris Theocharis spoke of tourism as the largest growing sector with 100,000 Indians visiting Greece in 2019. With 6000 islands, Greece is focusing on cruises, weddings and MICE, offering them an interesting mix of luxurious and sustainable experiences.

OTM, trusted by 1,000+ exhibitors from 60 countries, provides instant access to not only Mumbai and Western India, which is a contributor of a quarter of all India market, but also the vastly lucrative South India market that is over 40% of the Indian pie.

OTM has yet again brought the biggest names in the travel industry under one roof – Greece, Azerbaijan, Cambodia, Egypt, Fiji, Korea, Malaysia, Maldives, Mauritius, Nepal, Palestine, Romania, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Tanzania, Thailand; over a 1,000 other exhibitors including hotels, destination management companies, travel tech companies, airlines and cruise companies. OTM is ably supported by a Hosted Buyer Programme. 50 hand-picked corporate buyers from all over the country are fully hosted along with 100+ partially hosted corporate buyers from Mumbai-headquartered companies.

700+ top travel trade buyers consisting of India’s biggest travel agents and tour operators are visiting the show. MICE buyers, wedding planners and top production houses are present to interact with destinations at OTM.

Tie-ups with travel trade associations such as OTOAI, ADTOI, TAFI, ETAA, TAAI, IATO, NIMA, EEMA, SIGTOA, TAAP, TAAN, GTAA, TAG and RAAG have also been made to attract top buyers from all over India. International buyers from countries such as Australia, France, Spain, USA, Canada, Georgia, Romania, Poland, Italy, Israel, Bulgaria, Mexico, Qatar, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe and many others will attend the show. In addition, 15,000+ trade visitors from India and South Asia will be attending.

OTM’s famous knowledge programme, OTM Forum 2020 has leaders from Ingenico ePayments, Lufthansa, Indigo, MakeMyTrip, Amadeus, OYO Hotels & Homes, PayPal, RateGain, Travelport,  WhatsApp and 50 others giving talks, taking master classes and engage in conversation.

For the first time ever, OTM has also launched an Adventure & Experiential Travel Zone, specially dedicated to the growing demand of immersive travel. A special ITM pavilion dedicated to Hajj, Umrah, Ziyarat and Halal travel market in India has been added at OTM, with the promise of providing all-round support to India’s growing Muslim travel industry.
