Mumbai: Mumbai Shiv Vahtuk Sena Leader Sajid K. Supariwala appeals to muslim community to avoid  Eid celebration amid COVID-19 pandemic lockdown

Mumbai: With Mumbai having emerged as hotbed of Coronavirus due to rapid spread of the virus day-by-day, Shiv Vahtuk Sena Leader Sajid K. Supariwala appeals
shares his views with Hello Mumbai News Reporter Ayushi Kedia.

“No doubt the COVID-19 pandemic has locked everyone indoors and people are left in pathetic conditions.

Ahead of Ramzaan falling on 25 May and with the month long fast being observed by the Muslim community, it is considered as a special month for nearly two billion Muslims all over the world.

Hence keeping in mind the lockdown norms more particularly the social distancing, communal Eid celebrations needs to be avoided.

He further affirmed that with the lockdown imposed to contain the spread of Coronavirus Amid the lockdown, shiv vahtuk sena leader, people gather for want of food after being driven to poverty. Hence the Shiv Vahtuk Sena Leader Supariwala urges everyone to celebrate this year’s Eid sans new clothes in solidarity with the poor. We should stand united and stretch our hands to support for the migrant workers and people who are in dire need for basic facilities.

Supariwala further stress to Hello Mumbai News reporter Ayesha that this year, the auspicious occasion of Eid has come at a very inauspicious time when people are dying and suffering because due to the deadly virus and trapped in the cobweb of food crisis. This lockdown has put all under house arrest confined to four walls, but the poor and needy are left to fend for themselves without a job as everything is completely shut down.
So at this critical time, Almighty Allah would love if people desist from shopping for the sake of the poor and needy people and to heck whether neighbor has sufficient food to eat, clothes to cover their body and medical support to cure themselves.
And if only 1% or 1 family step forward to bring about this change then many people would start following to give their support according to their will as unity gives strength. At this time around the role of every individual will play an important role. This is the real-time to exhibit humanity and pure love towards Almighty Allah who will be happy with your deeds.

Obviously, due to the abrupt attack by the virus, it will take time in managing such a huge population. So this unity with the government will bring happiness on other’s faces because” HUMANITY IS RELIGION AND RELIGION IS HUMANITY”.

He also highlighted that though it is a big disappointment that this year we should forgo EID. to be “EID” prayer is something that people look forward to all day long” but this year all the religious places like Mosques and dargahs are closed. So we should respect this lockdown and pray at each one’s house and avoid communal celebration. Rather than EID namaaz they should read nonobligatory prayers like Nawafils and thank god for everything and pray for the speedy disappearance of the epidemic.
