It comes as good news for Mumbaikars and New Year Revellers.
The Mumbai Police has allowed terrace parties till 12.30 am and indoor parties till 5 am on New Year’s Eve. However cops mention that those who wanted to play music at a terrace party would have to take a no-objection certificate from the society as well as permission from the local police station.
This comes after two years when amid Covid-19 pandemic restrictions, celebrations were stalled. Eknath Shinde and Devendra Fadnavis led BJP Govt has removed all restrictions and allowed celebrations.
The police have also allowed bursting firecrackers this year, but not near buffer zones such as oil companies and petrol pumps. Cops have also clarified that this year there are no restrictions on gathering of four or more people.
As per a senior police officer an eye will be kept on the New Year’s Eve parties taking place in terraces and other places in societies to avoid any unwanted Incidents.
Special teams will be deployed in beach areas such as Juhu, Versova, Bandra Bandstand, Worli Sea face, Marine Drive, Gorai beach, Uttan beach and Rajodi beach in Vasai.
This team will check that there are no drugs or rave parties taking place.
