Mumbai: Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi, the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad and prestigious festival of Islam is being celebrated with religious fervour in different parts of the country today.

In Mumbai people take out procession through historical places and it ends at the historical places of south Mumbai’ Khilafat House. Prominent Political leaders from different parties, Muslim leaders , spiritual leaders from many religions attend this function.

Besides in Maharashtra, various organising committees decided not to take out Eid-e- Milad processions in view of Covid-19 pandemic.

However, this year ,the Goverenment of Maharashtra has not allowed mass procession and big gathering, but only very limited gathering of few people at Khilafat House.

Despite all muslim leaders and delegations having met Home Minister Anil Deshmukh and requested to allow procession, but due to current Covid-19 pandemic situation, Mumbai police did not allow mass procession. Few and limited procession will be allowed at Khilafat house.
