Mumbai Police issues prohibitive order for use and sale of flying lantern ahead of Diwali

With Diwali in the corner, DCP (Operations) Sanjay Latkar has issued prohibitive orders for use and sale of flying lanterns in Mumbai City.

A prohibitory order was issued by the police on Wednesday in fear of danger to human life.

The order has also been issued to prevent the activities of antisocial elements through flying lanterns.

The Order further adds that any person violating the order will be punished under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860.

The order would be published for the information of the public, the affixing copies on the notice boards of the police stations, Divisional ACPs, Zonal DCPs, Municipal Ward offices and by affixing copies at Tahsil and Ward offices.
