Mumbai: Rajesh Shah, Founder Director, GEO Roti Ghar, shares his experience on the projects they introduced amid lockdown with Hello Mumbai News reporter Tanushri Jajodia

Mumbai: Amid the stringent Covid-19 induced lockdown and with several daily wage workers and other poor people pushed to poverty with no job and funds, many NGOs ventured into various projects to help the Frontline Corona Warriors and the needy people as well as animals starving for food.

In a chat over phone with Hello Mumbai News reporter Tanushri Jajodia  Rajesh Shah, Founder Director, GEO Roti Ghar, sharing his experience about his projects amid lockdown, said they up many projects with the support from big organizations like Shanti Industries, Shrimad Rajchandra Mission etc. and numerous volunteers.

Elaborating on the projects initiated by their NGo, he said, Food packets on day-to-day basis, were served to around 5,000 people that included the police personnel and the MCGM Staff.

Till date they have served approx. 4,00,000 people with Grocery kits, oil, flour, rice, sugar, tea, salt, tur dal and constantly distributed to approx. 500 people; Other essential those were distributed included kits comprising masks, gloves, face shields, sanitizers, buttermilk and dry fruits packets to approx. 3000 people;

Apart from above, 1,000 packets of 1kg Mango Milk Shake too was distributed among the students, doctors, resident doctors and other staff of Sion Hospital.

Even around 1,000 packets of dry fruit were distributed to.LTMG Sion Hospital to the Frontline Covid-19 Warriors, besides Water and food to the migrants; Employment to the needy Women is being provided. And Beds to isolation centre.

Mr.Shah also mentioned that with the onset of monsoon they are distributing thick plastic sheets for shelters as well as umbrella among people living in slum areas.

He also reiterated that it is not only
Human Beings who are suffering, but even animals are also suffering greatly amid this Covid-19 induced lockdown.

Roti Ghar Project.

Jeevdaya Project, is reaching out to help feed the stray animals which are almost dying of hunger on the roads.
