Mumbai reports 15,166 Covid-19 New  cases in 24 hours

Mumbai is bearing the brunt of massive surge in Covid-19 caseload on Wednesday with 15,000 fresh infections in last 24 hours. Reportedly the city witnessed 15,166 fresh cases and 3 deaths due to Covid-19 Pandemic.

Notably, Mumbai’s tally of Covid-19 cases jumped to 8,33,628, with death toll increasing to 16,384.

Ironically, 1218 patients were hospitalised today, whereas 80 patients are on Oxygen against total hospitalised patients. As agaiñst 30,565 available beds only 5,104 are occupied by the patients so far. Only 14.4% beds are occupied out of total available beds.

Meanwhile, the Financial Capital had logged the highest-ever 11,163 COVID-19 cases on April 4, 2021.

On Tuesday, Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar had fervently hinted that in the event of the daily COVID-19 cases crossing the 20,000-mark, a lockdown will be imposed in the city as per the Union government’s rules.
