Shimla: Rotary club of Shimla has organised Blood Donation camp on Saturday, 15 August which falls as Independence Day. The Blood donation camp was head by Dr. Kanchan Singh who works in government hospital named Kamla Nehru Hospital(KMH) in Shimla.
Mr. Padan Sud, President of Rotary Club of Shimla, is associated with the club since 2004 and is serving the social purpose since then. Currently there are 85 members who are working and serving the people through the club. People aged around 25 to 75 age are working selflessly and tirelessly. It’s been 15 years that the club has been organising Blood Donation Camp every year on Independence Day. Shimla being a small city, the President of Rotary Club of Shimla, Mr. Padan Sud had to face some major issues this year because of the pandemic. They had to convince people to come forward and donate blood as every other person was afraid of Covid-19.

The Blood Donation Camp was organised at 11:00 am in the morning to 3:00 pm in afternoon. The venue chosen for the event was Rotary Town Hall, Mall Road where it is considered to be the place with crowd and active folks around. Also it was kept in mind that people could easily travel to this place.
Measures and safety was their first priority and the whole event took place keep the social distancing in mind. Every individual who came to donate their bit was safe. Each Donar was provided with sheets on their face and was disposable sheets, so that it could be easily disposed without causing harm to other individual. Each person was provided with new sheet masks so that the individuals who came to donate are not bothered and relaxed about their safety during this pandemic.
Around 50 units of massive blood was been able to collect during the Camp and Rotary Club of Shimla has also felicitated the individuals with certificates and small trophy as they came forward during this crisis to help and donate their own bit.
