The World Hospice & Palliative Care Day was celebrated on 8th October 2022. World-wide multiple events took place and one such important event was conducted in the city of Pune, Maharashtra.
To commemorate this event and to cater to needs of patients suffering from Cancer and other Chronic Illness, Cancer Home Health in association with PallEx Healthcare, have launched Home Care program.
To create awareness PallEx Healthcare Solutions Pune organised its 1st PallEx Palliative Care Conference at Hotel Pride, Pune.
The event was inaugurated by Orthopaedic surgeon Padmashri Dr Sharad Hardikar along with Mr Sundareswaran, CEO of Empathy Foundation, and other dignitaries.
The recorded keynote address was by Onco-thoracic surgeon Padmashri Dr Ramakant Deshpande ji.
The event was a grand success under the leadership of Dr Prince John and Dr Sunil Dhiliwal, both are pioneers in the field of Palliative Care and it’s reach in the private sector and corporate hospitals.
The main aim of the event was to reach out to the community and educate them on Integrating Palliative care in chronic illnesses and how it is a human right to be made available until the end of life. The fulfilment of taking Palliative care to a broader context was made possible through well thought-out and curated scientific presentations by doctors from specialities like Cancer, Pulmonology, Neurology and Palliative Care.
The conference was a huge success with high participation, comprising of doctors, nurses, medical social workers, and medical representatives.
The event started at 10 a.m. and with vote of thanks dispersed at 5p.m. The event was available live, and hundreds of participants were present online.
Special thanks to Dr Chetan Deshmukh (Medical Oncologist), Dr Shivakumar Iyer (Critical Care Medicine Specialist), Dr Sonali Bhasme Sahu (Palliative Care Specialist), Dr Rahul Kulkarni (Neurologist), Dr Rajam Iyer, (Pulmonologist and Palliative Care Physician) for the informative scientific sessions.
Among the attendees we had Dr Rutula Sonawane (MD Palliative Medicine), currently practicing in Pune, and the 1st year MD Palliative Medicine student Dr Arnavi Udapure.
Dr Sunil Dhiliwal and Ms Simoni Binoy were the key person in helping Dr Prince John for the successful event.
