NCB Mumbai Crime No 94/2021

NCB Mumbai launched follow-up operations in NCB Mumbai Crime No. 94/2021 on 06.10.2021. A team of NCB Mumbai raided at Andheri (E), Mumbai and arrested 01 Nigerian national namely Chinedu Igwe along with 40 tablets (15 gram) of Ecstasy.

Further, it is pertain to mentioned that total 17 persons arrested including one Nigerian national by NCB Mumbai in the Crime No. 94/2021 till date. Further investigation is under process.

MDMA(methylenedioxy methamphetamine), commonly known as ecstasy, is a party drug that alters mood and perception is chemically similar to both stimulants and hallucinogens and produce feelings of increased energy and pleasure. As per UNODC World Drug Report 2020, “ecstasy” continues to be manufactured primarily in Europe, most notably in Western and Central Europe. Europe accounts for two thirds of the “ecstasy” laboratories dismantled worldwide. The total quantity of “ecstasy” seized worldwide has doubled over the period 2009-2018. This is also reflected in the rapidly increasing popularity of such synthetic drugs in India.
