In a shocking turn of event Mumbai Crime Branch on Thursday arrested Pritesh Jain, 34, owner of Prime Sapphire Education Consultancy and his employee Raviprakash Maurya,26, in fake education certificate racket.

The accused were operating the racket since last two years and allegedly sold over 200 fake degree certificates and mark sheets from UGC-accredited private universities across India. As per police official they suspect the role of respective universities officials in the racket.

According to API Bharat Ghone of Crime Branch Unit 11, the racket came to light when he received a tip-off that Borivli based Prime Sapphire Education Consultancy had been selling fake graduate and post graduate certificates.

Immediately in the guise of Student he along with crime branch sleuths approached them posing as a student for Bsc and Bcom certificates. The accused asked him to pay ₹1.31 lakh for certificates. The API and his team caught them red handed while giving the certificates of Calorx university also known as Sabarmati University and Dr A P J Abdul Kalam University in Madhya Pradesh.

DCP Crime Branch Sangramsinh Nishandar reveals that they have seized a laptop, hard disk, pen drive and cash along with multiple certificates. They will verify these certificates with the concerned universities.

Reportedly the accused were were gathering details from popular job portals and target those people who require education certificates for jobs or for internal job promotions.
