Vileparle, Mumbai: The 27-year-old Rotary Club of Mumbai Parleshwar (RCMP) held the Installation ceremony of its 28th President Rtn. Unmesh Sawant in an all online virtual ceremony held on 25.06.2021. The new president Rtn. Unmesh Sawant joined the Rotary in 2015 and has been a very active member in running various projects at the club level and for the district. He takes over the presidential collar from his own sister Rtn. Jyoti Babladi, who has led the club during one of the toughest years in the history of mankind. Rtn. Jyoti Babladi completed 100+ projects during her tenure in 2020-21, right through the pandemic.

RCMP club members welcomed President Rtn. Unmesh Sawant for the Dream Year in a well-crafted virtual ceremony held on the virtual platform- Zoom. The occasion was graced by dignitaries from the Rotary District 3141. District Governor (DG) Rtn. Rajendra Agarwal spoke very highly of RCMP. He said “I have been watching the passion with which President Rtn. Jyoti has been working and seen the pleasure and happiness that it has given her. This is what is required to do great work.”. He set the vision for the Dream year 2021-22 and appreciated the presentation made by president Unmesh for the Dream year. He said, “This shows the dedication with which he (Rtn. Unmesh) attended all the training programs” and set the direction by saying “I want the Dream year to be a year of purpose”.

The ceremony started with the tradition of lighting of the lamp, only this time it was done virtually using an “e-Samai” (electronic traditional lamp), followed by an invocation song presented by Rtn. Shilpa Jadhav. The presidential pinning was done by the first lady Mrs. Gauri Sawant. President Rt.Unmesh introduced his Board of Directors for the Dream Year 2021-2022. The master of ceremony Rtn. Atul Gokhale created the right atmosphere for a ceremony of this grandeur.
The Club has already been able to add 3 new members, who took their oath during the installation ceremony. The new members were cordially welcomed by all the dignitaries like DG. Rtn. Rajendra Agarwal, AG. Rtn. Dilip Pagariya and President Rtn. Unmesh Sawant.

President Rtn. Unmesh introduced the AG of District 3141 Rtn. Dilip Pagariya. AG. Pagariya has been serving the community since  1993 when he joined Rotary. He has held various positions and was the president of his club in 2002-03. He and his wife Rtn. Sheela are Paul Harris Fellows. AG. Dilip said “It is a fabulous club and I am privileged to be the AG for this club. I was also the Assistant Trainer to the Club during PDG. Rtn. Subhash Kulkarni’s year”.

The occasion was graced by many stalwarts from District 3141, DG. Rtn. Rajendra Agarwal, District Secretary Rtn. Rajesh Dave, AG. Rtn. Dilip Pagariya, Chief coordinator Rtn. Yogesh Jasrani, Principal Aide Rt. Chetan Desai, PDG. Subhash Kulkarni, RCMP Charter members Rtn. Vijay Sathaye and Rtn. Shrikant Bhagwat and the Past Presidents of the Club. President Unmesh Sawant’s Swedish friends joined the ceremony from Sweden to make it truly inter-continental.

The ceremony concluded with DS Rtn. Dr.Rajesh Dave conferring the title of President of RCMP on Rtn. Unmesh Sawant; District Avenue Chair for Membership-Recruitment Rtn. Anand Ramnani, conferring the certificate of commitment  and District Avenue Chair for TRF Rtn. Kamlesh Kharade conferring the TRF commitment certificate on President Unmesh Sawant.
