Additional Commissioner of Mumbai Police Western Region Sandeep Karnik, Saher Bhamla, Nikita Rawal join Vishvas Mote (BMC), Anusha Srinivasan Iyer, Vedant Gill in Mega Vriksha Plantation Drive.

“Trees are our citizens too. When they fall due to cyclone, we need to restore their life back,” said Addl CP western Region Sandeep Karnik, as he planted trees alongside.

Addl CP Sandeep Karnik, Saher Bhamla, Nikita Rawal joined the likes of Hon. MP Smt. Hema Malini, Ranvir Shorey and son Haroon Shorey, Dino Morea, Anil Kapoor, Anupam Kher, Abhishek Bachchan, Bappi Lahiri, Shatrughan Sinha, Sonakshi Sinha, Poonam Sinha, Ajay Devgn and son Yug Ajay Devgn, Sonu Nigam, Niharica Raizada, Vatsal Sheth, Amit Behl, Ayesha Jhulka, Dr. Aneel Kashi Murarka, Saniya Saiyad, Ashnoor Kaur, Advait Mote and MLA Shri Ameet Satam who are all proud tree parents!
Added Nikita Rawal, “it is an amazing initiative by BMC and Anusha Srinivasan of Make Earth Green Again MEGA Foundation. We need to create more green spaces .”
Saher Bhamla asked for us to spend time minimising plastic use, and leave behind green footprints. She lauded Mega, BMC and Vriksha on their move.
World Environment Day 2021 marked the start of BMC’s ‘Be A Tree Parent’ MEGA Vriksha Campaign. Instituted by the K West Ward Asst Commissioner Mr. Vishvas Mote, along with Anusha Srinivasan Iyer of Make Earth Green Again MEGA Foundation and Shaan Lalwani from Vriksha Nursery, the campaign involves and encourages societies and residents to adopt tree pits from the 348 Mumbai locations where trees had fallen in the K West Ward, post Cyclone Tauktae, and replant identified, fast-growing native tree species in those locations.
