Santoor Wizard Pt Shiv Kumar Sharma cremated with full state honours at Vile Parle Crematorium

Santoor Wizard Pt Shiv Kumar Sharma who breathed his last on Tuesday morning at his residence was on Wednesday cremated amid full state honours in the presence of family and close

After a guard of honour in Juhu, where his mortal remains were kept for people to pay their respects, Sharma’s funeral was held at Vile Parle’s Pawan Hans Crematorium. The musician’s family, including wife Manorama and sons Rahul and Rohit, his friends from the music fraternity, including long-time collaborator Chaurasia and tabla maestro Zakir Hussain, were present.

Sharma’s sons performed the last rites followed by a gun salute.

Earlier in the day, legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, lyricist Javed Akhtar, music composer duo Jatin-Lalit and singer Ila Arun, paid their last respects at Abhijit Cooperative Housing Society JVPD Scheme, Juhu.

With his sudden passing away, Pt.Shiv Kumar Sharma has left the Santoor weep profusely. Hi music will live forever though he is not in our midst.
