Sufi Islamic Board seeks Legal Advice against Order of Jammu Kashmir Wakf Board against the Nazr O Niyaz Collection in Aastanas of J&k.

The Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board has ordered a complete ban on collection of donation by trustees at shrines and mosques run by the Board where forefathers of the present day Khadims have been running these shrines, as Imams, trustees and caretakers voluntarily, without any salary, In this regard, an order was issued here vide order No. JKWB/Adm/ CE/ 1723-25 dated 16th August, 2022.

The J&K Waqf Board looks after nearly 32,000 properties, including shrines, mosques and educational institutions, across the UT. A semi-government organisation, it is led by its chairperson, who is a government appointee — the current chairperson is Darakshan Andrabi, a BJP leader.

The Khadims of Jammu And Kashmir have approached the Sufi Islamic Board J&K unit President Musharraf Andrabi to help them in getting the Order cancelled. Anjuman Mujavran, Ziyarat Reshi Sahab, Anantnag, Sultanul Aarfeen Makhdoom Sahab Kashmir, Gaus Ul Azam Shrine Srinagar and Various Associations of Kashmiri Khadims have requested Sufi Islamic Board to represent them to approach the Central of the State Governments or the Court to get the Order Cancelled. These letters have been forwarded to the Central Executive Committe to take further steps.

The Central Executive Committe,Sufi Islamic Board has condemned the Order issued by Jammu Kashmir Wakf Board and appointed a three member Committe specialized in Wakf Issues to study the Order and to prepare a roadmap to defend the Khadims whose rights have been infringed by the Wakf Board. The three members appointed by the CEC are Advocate Shaukat Ali Mohammed, Advocate High Madras High Court, Advocate Anwar Shaikh of Gujrat High Court and Advocate Ahtesham Siddiqui of Madhya Pradesh High Court.
Sufi Islamic Board National President Mansoor Khan has stated the the J&K Wakf Board is acting against the Basic pillar Of Sufi Parampara by abolishing the Nazr O Niyaz Collection in Aastanas of J&K and such action seems to be influenced by Wahabi or the Sallafi Ideology.

Spokesperson Maharashtra Faisal Banaraswala has stated that the Jammu and Kashmir Wakf Board has violated the Constitutional Rights of the Kashmiri Khadims and Sufi Islamic Board will soon write a detailed Letter to His Excellency The President of India, Hon’able Prime Minister of India and Hon’able Home Minister of India requesting to repeal the above Order on Constitutional and Humanitarian Grounds.
