Mumbai Xmas New Year Parties restricted in Pubs and Star Hotels over Omicron case

Amid rapid spread of Omicron variant in Mumbai, the Mumbai Police and the City’s Civic Body have come down heavily over the rapid spread of the New Variant and have expressed growing concerns. And with Christmas just 2 days left and the New Year, the Mumbai Police and the City’s Municipal Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal have imposed stringent restrictions and have issued directives to Pub and Night Club owners to refrain from hosting Christmas and New Year Parties.
They have subsequently appealed to citizens to avoid gatherings and parties and warned of stringent action against those who flout the rules.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra has so far reported 54 cases of the Omicron variant. Out of theseĺ 22 are from Mumbai, including cases found through screening at the international airport.
Chahal makes it known that due to the spread of Omicron, the situation at many countries in the world has once again gone out of control and has created a lockdown-like situation.
