Daljit Atwal & Surjit Atwal need no introduction. They are professionals in their chosen career as film artistes.
In their teens they started to learn Folklore Bhangra Dancing as a Teenager, and to master the art gradually. They further dabbled in Drum Playing known as DHOL alongside Ustad ji (Teacher) (Harbinder Binda, the leader and the manager of the group)
They mastered all this in their first Bhangra folklore dance group known as the GREAT INDIAN DANCERS BHANGRA LONDON UK.
After learning and mastering some of the great folklore(Bangra) and the Art of Dhol Playing, he was privileged to have performed at some the best WorldWide Stages, including International TV and Bollywood Cinema
He along with his group had participated in dance sequences from the films of veteran filmmaker Manmohon Desai’s Blockbusters SUHAAG, the Amitabh Bachchan Shashi Kapoor, Rekha, Parveen Babi, song “Teri Rab Ne Bana di Jodi”, David Dhawans directed “YEH HAI JALWA” starring Salman Khan, Sunjay Dutt, Rishi Kapoor, Yash Chopra directed MOHABATIEN, starring Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan Aishwariya Rai Bachchan plus many others.
He also played on the Dhol Drum with some of the Finest Punjabi and Bollywood singing groups, including the Late Legendary KULDIP MANAK SAAB, and other Folk Bhangra groups in United Kingdom. Without naming anyone in particular, except one of course to which I felt a great part of”, as it was a sense of owning, the Bhangra Band, that is to say Nirmals SHAVA SHAVA” PLUS one of my best ones, a dream come true “ at the DUKE OF EDINBURGH AWARDS 25th ANNVERSARY CEREMONY, Where Worlds TOP International celebrity artist had performed. It was a RED CARPET treatment for him or should the Bhangra Group.
After many years of mastering the Folklore Danc form & playing on Dhol and of course watching his senior singing artists, Including his stage senior singing artist Balbir Kalia, a great Bollywood and a Punjabi singing Artist. I had always been Inspired in him as a great singer. Daljit’s secret desire in singing turned REALITY in 2014 when he did his first Religious Album consisting of 8 Religious songs in praise of Baba Balak Nath ji, followed by several other hit songs such as NACH PATLO, -ZINDIGI DO DIN DI YAARA-(Life is short, so enjoy) -TUTE DIL (Broken Hearts), -SINGH SHER-(The song praising the Great Singh Sardars of the World. Thereafter a song on parents all in one MAA BAAP aur BACHEY- then typical Punjabi BOLYIEEN Mix, -DUNIYA BADELDI JANDI (The changing world). Later he penned a song on CoronaVirus Covid 19, Lately his last few songs on Sat Shri Akaal the Punjabi Salute song in the film FATEH..Rounding up his latest Song Project on the Troubled Farmers in India, just Released is titled KARRAN MAIN DOUWAN, simple Prayers for the farmers. Unlike all other songs which supports farmers directly and talks on Delhi, Daljit took oath to PRAY for them through his song
His earnest desire is to write his own meaningful songs. He has the support from his wife Surjit Atwal who pens 80% of his songs that he has mentioned above.
