Mumbai Veteran Actress Shabana Azmi critically injured in road accident on Mumbai-Pune Expressway near Kalapur Toll Plaza.

After Mumbai veteran actress Shabana Azmi who got critically injured in a road accident on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway and was rushed to nearby Panvel Hospital has now been shifted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital for further treatment.

The news nearly sent shock waves in

Bollywood and left many celebrities including her co-stars, producers and directors much worried.

Several celebrities including Farhan Akhtar, Zoya Akhtar, Shibani Dandekar, Anil Kapoor, Tabu and Arjun Kapoor rushed to meet the celebrated actress.

According to reports, the actress, who was travelling with her husband and noted screenwriter Javed Akhtar, sustained injuries in the accident. Her driver was also injured and the two were immediately rushed to MGM Hospital in Panvel.

As per tweet by Dr. Santosh Shetty, Executive Director and CEO, Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital the actress is “stable” and “under observation”.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed his concern and prayed for the actress’ speedy recovery. He tweeted, “The news of @AzmiShabana Ji’s injury in an accident is distressing. I pray for her quick recovery.” Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also prayed for her recovery and wellbeing.

Many industry members including Swara Bhasker, Anubhav Sinha, Lata Mangeshkar and Gauahar Khan had also taken to Twitter to express their concern and urging people to pray for the actress.

The authorities at the MGM hospital had earlier informed that the actress has sustained a head injury. She has sustained an injury in the spine and a few near her eye bags.
