Veteran actress Surekha Sikri dies of cardiac arrest at 75 in Mumbai She is 3 times National Award Winner


    Mumbai: Veteran actress Surekha Sikri passed away in the early hours today, Friday, July 16, in Mumbai. She was 75. This sad news was confirmed by her Manager in a press release. Surekha was not in the best of her health for some time now.

    Reportedly she suffered a brain stroke and had to be rushed to a nearby hospital where she closed her eyes for ever. Infact last year she suffered a brain stroke and a paralytic stroke earlier in 2018.

    Surekhaji is a three-time National Award winner. Surekha Sikri has passed away following a cardiac arrest earlier this morning at the age of 75. She had been suffering from complications arising from a second brain stroke. She was surrounded by family and her caregivers. At this pandemic time her family asks for privacy “Om Sai Ram.”

    Surekha Sikri’s Career in Bollywood:
    The actress made her debut in 1978 with Kissa Kursi Ka. Later she got married to Hemant Rege and they have a son together, Rahul Sikri. In Bollywood her works include Balika Vadhu, Badhaai Ho, Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani, Pardes Mein Hai Mera Dil… Indumati Lala Mehra, Maha Kumbh: Ek Rahasaya, Ek Kahani, Saat Phere – Saloni Ka Safar, Banegi Apni Baat, Kesar, Kkehna Hai Kuch Mujhko, Saher, Samay, CID and Just Mohabbat, among others.

    Surekha was last seen in Netflix”s anthology Ghost Stories directed by Zoya Akhtar.
