Anjuman – I – Islam as a Premier Educational & Social Organisation of India, established in the year 1875 with the distinguished service of 142 years. Anjuman – I – Islam’s Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology commenced in the year 1993, with an aim of creating young professionals replete with the knowledge, skills and the right attitude for a global, evolving Hospitality Industry.
Anjuman – I – Islam’s IHMCT has been in the news for decades for hosting theme dinners and theme lunches by students. MAGN 2K17, our annual inter-collegiate youth festival, is one of the most dynamic fests hosted by the students of Anjuman – I – Islam’s Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology.
This year students have selected the theme ‘Vintage to Vogue-A journey of excellence ‘which showcases the transition from past to present. The students present to you, an unique nostalgic journey which will take you back in time to realize how the golden era evolved and new trends of society came into existence.
In today’s fast paced life where millennials are pampered for choice in every aspect of life, the students invite you to take a pause and turn back. Watch all the amazing transformations that have happened-and also a magnetic pull towards everything fast and furious.
This change that we witness will not stop if will continue to metamorphose, which is why before vintage is completely forgotten, let’s explore its beautiful transformation.
MAGN 2K17 is a two day festival which includes events and competitions like Magn Chef,Mocktail Competiton,Chess,Group Dance, Solo Singing,,Photogrpahy, Nail Art Competition, collage, gaming zones like Khabadi, Box Cricket, Rink Football, Carrom, Counter Strike,Beat Boxing etc
What sets MAGN 2K17 apart is the array of mouth-watering, delectable culinary fare promoted by the students through an exquisite amalgamation of traditional and contemporary cuisines from around the world. Our festival is all about imagination, innovation, creativity and action. It provides a platform to our students to showcase their talents and hone managerial, marketing and entrepreneurship skills under the able guidance of our principals & teachers.
Some of our guests who graced the occasion since the launch of MAGN in 2010 are Model/Actress Ms.Rageswahri, Ms.Nikita Sawant, Model /Actor Ali Khan, Tabrez khan, Shrikant Kamat, Uppercurst Food Magazine Editor Farzana Contractor, Celebrity Chef Nilesh Limaye, Taj Group of Hotel Chef Satish Arora, Food Food Channel Chef Shantanu Gupte, Chef Saruansh Goila, Chef Ajay Chopra,Fitness Guru Micky Mehta & popular food show host,Chef Vicky Ratnani.
Anjuman – I – Islam has always believed in supporting a social cause. In our previous years, we have organised blood donation camps, voter registration program and also generated funds for drought affected farmers of Maharashtra. Last year we organised a bakery workshop for the girls of A.D.Bawla Orphanage, Mumbai.
Taking up a virtuous cause, this year our students have chosen to support the Government hospitals in their efforts to overcome current blood shortage .Through our fest we aim to reach as many possible donors to encourage them to donate blood and become a saviour to someone’s precious life.
MAGN 2K17 will be held on 13th & 14th December, 2017 at Anjuman – I – Islam’s campus involves teams from over 50 colleges in Mumbai. MAGN is all set to live up to its tag line “FOOD FUN FROLIC & FIESTA”.
