Mumbai: Science has been a key to the survival and comfort of mankind in the modern era and has been advancing at a much faster pace in the 21st century. To commemorate the achievements of mankind in its extraordinary feat in science research, R.D. and S.H. National College and S.W.A. Science College, Bandra (w) will be organizing a program on National Science Day, 28th February 2020 supported by the Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India under the DBT Star College Scheme. The program is aimed at creating awareness for science education and research and the audience will be the science undergraduate and postgraduate students of the college. Professor Rajan Welukar, Former Vice Chancellor University of Mumbai, will be the Chief Guest for the program. Professor Sudhir Raniwala of University of Rajasthan, the only Indian member at the European Centre for Nuclear Research (CERN), Geneva, Switzerland, will be the Guest of Honor and keynote speaker. In its 70th year of science undergraduate education, the college will also inaugurate its Common Facility Centre and E-learning labs, which has been funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India under the DST-FIST grant. The Common Facility Centre is state of the art laboratory with many-advanced analytical instruments, which will help in strengthen undergraduate research. The college will organize a Poster competition titled – Science Research – A Service to Mankind. To acknowledge the contributions of scientists, VIGYAN GAURAV awards will be awarded to seven exceptional researchers and academicians.
